Abyssinian Cat History and Origin

Abyssinian cat originally came from Egypt. This cat also been known as Ethiopian Cat and Algerian Cat where the first Abbysian cat had been brought to European country after the Abyssinian war by a Britain soldier . This was quite after Britain’s victory over Abyssinia in 1868 during the Abyssinian war. This cat become popular around the 30’s and now this Abyssinian cat is one of the top five most popular breed in the world.

Appearance and Characteristics of the Abyssinian

What makes this Abyssinian cat differ  is due to a unique gene that is present in the Abyssinian cat, which gives their surface a translucent effect.  They had an extraordinary texture rather than being of a soft quality which contains several dark bands over a lighter shade making the coat evenly giving it a ticked coat pattern.

 

The Abyssinian’s eyes are big and they sport dark rims round their eyes over a background of a light shade of hair. The Aby’s large ears are cupped with tufts of fur at the tips. They are athletic cats with really long bodies and can weigh from around 9 to about 17 pounds.  The Abyssinian owns slender legs with smaller paws. They also own long tails that can measure up to its whole length.
